Organization

The Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Goeikai USA is governed as follows;

Meiyo-Kaicho

Kenei Shimabukuro Hanshi began his study of Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do in 1958 under the direction of Seiko Higa Sensei. After the passing of Higa Sensei, he began training at the Jundokan Dojo under Eiichi Miyazato Sensei. Shimabukuro Sensei was a senior member of the Jundokan and continued to teach there even after opening his own dojo the Shimabukuro Karate Dojo in Najo City, Okinawa. Shimabukuro Sensei is the founder and chairman of the Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Goeikai and hold the rank of Hanshi 10th Dan.

Technical Director

Hiroshi Ganaha Sensei began his training at the Jundokan Dojo under Eiichi Miyazato Sensei in 1975. He was a senior member and Instructor at the Jundokan before leaving to become the Director of the Shimabukura Karate Dojo and Okinawa Gojuryu Karate-do Goeikai.

Shibu-Cho

C. Michial Jones Sensei is the first person to introduce Gojuryu Goeikai to North America. Jones Sensei has been training in the Martial Arts since 1977. He is an internationally published author and retired Chief of Police.

Chief Jones holds senior grades in Karate, Kobujutsu/Kobudo, Jujutsu, and Iaijutsu/Iaido. All awarded by well known Japanese and/or Okinawa based groups.

Chief Jones is a senior member of the Okinawan Gojuryu Karate-do Goeikai. He is a direct student of Kenei Shimabukuro, Kaicho, who has graded him to Kyoshi, 8th Dan.  In an effort to spread the true martial arts of Okinawa, Jones Sensei serves as Shibu-cho for the Goeikai, He is also President of the Zen Ryukyu-Den Kobujutsu Hozonkai.
